The projects include investigating conformations, physical/thermodynamic properties of polymers, peptides, proteins, and RNAs, building data-driven approaches to predict structures and properties of the soft materials, and free energy calculations of small drug molecules in different environments.

Position 1: Postdoctoral Researcher

Qualifications:
Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, or closely related fields. Substantial research experience in computational chemistry.
Strong computer skills: Linux, Python, etc.
Experience with a variety of techniques: LAMMPS, NAMD, GROMACS, AMBER, DFT, ORCA, etc.
Good publication record.
Starting date: The position is open beginning as early as August 15, 2022.  The position is initially a one-year appointment, but funding is available for a second year.

Position 2: Ph.D. students

Prospective students are expected to have or will receive Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Chemical engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, and other relevant fields. Strong background in mathematics, coding/computation, thermodynamics, chemical physics, or materials design is preferred, but not required.
