Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

The projects include investigating conformations, physical/thermodynamic properties of polymers, peptides, proteins, and RNAs, building data-driven approaches to predict structures and properties of the soft materials, and free energy calculations of small drug molecules in different environments.

Position 1: Postdoctoral Researcher

Qualifications:
Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, or closely related fields. Substantial research experience in computational chemistry.
Strong computer skills: Linux, Python, etc.
Experience with a variety of techniques: LAMMPS, NAMD, GROMACS, AMBER, DFT, ORCA, etc.
Good publication record.
Starting date: The position is open beginning as early as August 15, 2022.  The position is initially a one-year appointment, but funding is available for a second year.

Position 2: Ph.D. students

Prospective students are expected to have or will receive Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Chemical engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, and other relevant fields. Strong background in mathematics, coding/computation, thermodynamics, chemical physics, or materials design is preferred, but not required. GRE and TOEFL scores might be required for graduate applications.
