A post-doctoral position is available in the group of Emmanuelle Marquis in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan: http://marquislab.engin.umich.edu/
Start date = may 1st to June 30th 2016. Duration: flexible (6 months to 2 years)
The goal of the project is to build a computational model for the imaging technique of Atom Probe Tomography (APT), by creating virtual samples with realistic microstructures and sizes, simulating evaporation and signal detection, and comparing with experimentally acquired data to refine and optimize the process. The objective is the build a computational tool to improve data reconstruction and analysis, inspire new data processing methods, and assess errors and uncertainty.

Interested candidates should have very a strong computational and C++ background, as well as excellent oral and written communications skills.
