Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Postdoctoral Research Associate (Job ID 584):

Requires a PhD in physics, chemistry or materials science with primary focus on theoretical research. Candidates should have a strong record of research experience, including the development and use of computational methods for application to nanostructured materials. Research projects will be directed to developing models for complex interfaces and understanding the influence on electronic characteristics and chemical interactions. These projects will be connected with key CFN research themes (interface science, heterogeneous catalysis, photocatalysis, or materials for energy storage). Interest in and experience with methods for many-body perturbation theory or spectroscopy (valence or core related) will be considered. Position working with Dr. Mark Hybertsen, leader of the Theory and Computation Group in the Center for Functional Nanomaterials.

Application procedure: See on-line listings and instructions at http://www.bnl.gov/cfn/jobs.

BNL Policy states that research associate appointments may be made to individuals who have received their doctorate within the past five years.
