Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Dear Colleagues,

I would like to advertise an open position in the School of Engineering at Brown University. The project is focused on gas-phase kinetics at high pressures (e.g. computing elementary rate constants under real-gas conditions). The position is supported by the U.S. Department of Energy. The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent, as well as strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a larger team. Additional requirements include extensive experience in electronic structure theory (particularly multi-reference methods) and molecular dynamics (particularly LAMMPS). Proficiency with scientific computing (e.g. Python) and software carpentry (e.g. github), are highly valued.

Brown University is located in Providence, Rhode Island, a medium-sized city in New England, one-hour by train Boston and three-hours by train from New York City.

If you are interested and eligible, please send your CV to: [email protected]

Kind regards,
Franklin Goldsmith
