Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Applications are invited for a 18-month post-doctoral position (“assegno di ricerca” in the Italian system) on “Biomimetic catalyzers between 2D and 3D: effects of second neighbor coordination sphere”,  at the University of Udine, Italy, to work with prof. Paolo Giannozzi and collaborators.

This research project is part of a PRIN-PNRR project financed by the Italian Ministry of University and Research, and is conducted in collaboration with experimentalists at the University of Trieste. A Ph.D. in physics or chemistry or material science/engineering is required. Research experience in quantum simulations of materials on high-performance computers is a big plus.

The net annual salary after all deductions is about 27500 Eur. The position will be opened until Jan.16  and will start as soon as the procedure is completed (March 2024 for EU citizens, 2-3 months later for non-EU citizens, presumably).

More details on the project and on how to apply can be found at this link: https://physicslab.uniud.it/persone/paolo-giannozzi/advert . For more info, feel free to contact [email protected].
