A post-doctoral position is available at the ICN2 (Barcelona) in the Theory and Simulation group, led by Pablo Ordejon, within the EC project INTERSECT.

The work focuses on the development of different new computational methods within the SIESTA package to extract physical properties, which might include: formation enthalpy of charged defects, electron-phonon matrix elements from linear response (DFPT), dissipation scattering rates for electrical and thermal conductivity, dynamics of domain walls in ferroic materials, or defect diffusion barriers.

Requirements:

- PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related disciplines

- Knowledge of DFT methods, coding in Fortran+MPI, python

- Professional Experience in computational science (ideally, with SIESTA), high-performance computing, and high- throughput calculations

- Competences: Strong commitment, attention to detail, demonstrated ability to work with deadines, manage conflicting priorities, excellent communication skills and ability to work with highly qualified professionals with international backgrounds.

The initial contract is for one year, that can be renewed up to three years upon mutual agreement.
