The Nanoscience and Technology Division/Center for Nanoscale Materials (CNM) at Argonne National Laboratory has a postdoctoral position available in theory and modeling.  The position is funded for one year with the possibility of  extension (subject to available funding and performance evaluation).  The position would ideally start in the early Spring of 2019.

The prospective researcher will carry out theoretical research in the area of quantum and classical ultrafast imaging and spectroscopy and also interact closely with experimentalists working in this area.

Expertise in the theory and modeling of quantum systems, especially in the context of quantum optics, quantum information and open systems dynamics is preferred.  Additional expertise in optical imaging modeling and classical electrodynamics in general, as well as in advanced scientific programming and data analysis are also  beneficial.  For additional information, please contact Stephen Gray at [email protected].

The candidate should have or be receiving shortly a Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry or a related field, and not be beyond two years of receiving the Ph.D.
