A 2 years Post Doctoral fellowship is available in the Applied Physics group, Materials Science Department at Luleå University of Technology, Sweden. The fellowship amounts to 600 000 SEK (tax free) for 2 years. The latest starting date is March 2017. Candidates are required to have a PhD in Physics or Materials Science. A good knowledge of the English language is mandatory. 

The research project is focused on magnon spintronics and aims at improving the field of information and communication technology. This implies finding or designing new materials and new ways of storing and transmitting information. Additional research projects will be defined together with the successful applicant. Part of the tasks in the projects will be achieved by ab initio calculations, spin dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations on supercomputers. When necessary, the candidate is expected to improve and expand the existing codes.
