A two-year postdoctoral position is available at the Geosciences Environment Toulouse lab in Toulouse, France

The research will focus on the ab initio modelling of metals and silicate minerals, in order to predict Ge isotopes fractionation properties, for application to the understanding of planetary differentiation. The quantum espresso code will be the adopted software.

The workplan fits in the framework of the ANR PlanetGEM project (lead by Béatrice Luais of CRPG, Nancy, France), and will involve interaction with geochemists that are partners in the project.

The ideal candidate should be strongly motivated, independent and willing to work in a dynamical and multicultural environment.

Requirements are: background in physics/chemistry of solids, experience with the use of a major quantum chemistry/solid state physics ab initio code; familiarity with the Unix/Linux environment.
