The University of Duisburg-Essen invites applications for a
Post-doctoral Researcher
(Salary scale 13 TV-L)
at the Faculty of Physics, located on the Duisburg Campus
Main research topics and duties:
Research on non-equilibrium dynamics in condensed matter systems, with focus on the ab initio description of electronic excitation and relaxation dynamics,
preparing and teaching courses, some administrative tasks.
The job offers opportunity for further scientific qualification.
Qualifications required:
PhD in Physics or Theoretical Chemistry
Profound knowledge of atomistic quantum-mechanical simulation methods, of condensed matter theory, in particular density functional theory. Acquaintance with computers running under Unix/Linux, good programming skills in Fortran or C. Knowledge in numerical techniques for theoretical description of electronic excitations (e.g., TDDFT) is an advantage.
Proposed starting date: Earliest possible starting date Oct. 1st, 2015
Duration of contract: 2 years
Working hours: 100% of a full-time position
