PhD thesis opening in condensed matter theory
One PhD position is available in the Condensed Matter theory group of the Laboratoire Ondes et Matière d'Aquitaine (LOMA), a laboratory of CNRS and University of Bordeaux, France. The aim of this thesis is to propose original and innovative nano-probes in order to initiate, probe and modulate the rate of chemical reactions at the nanoscale. We will investigate physico-chemical properties of a population of molecules embedded inside an electromagnetic micro or nano-cavity, and study how the confinement impacts the kinetics of chemical reactions, in close relation to experiments.
The PhD candidate should have a strong background in either one of the following disciplines: quantum physics, quantum optics, condensed matter and theoretical physics or chemistry.
He(she) should be motivated by the interdisciplinary aspect of the project.
