The Kanai research group (http://www.unc.edu/kanai_group) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA) is seeking a new PhD student (starting in Summer/Fall 2018) on projects that investigate structural and opto/electronic properties of Organic-Inorganic Hybrid materials. The research is in collaboration with the theory group of Prof. Volker Blum (Duke University) as well as with other experimental research groups. Strong background in chemistry, condensed-matter physics, or materials science is desired. We especially welcome those with in-depth experience in large-scale first-principles electronic structure methods.
 
Chapel Hill is frequently ranked among best places to live, and it is part of the highly vibrant region, Research Triangle, anchored by three research universities (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Duke University, and North Carolina State University) surrounding high-tech companies in Research Triangle Park.
