A PhD studentship in Materials Modeling is available starting from the Summer of 2016 at the University of Hong Kong. Successful candidate will be working in simulating materials properties using first-principles methods based on density functional theory and molecular dynamics under the supervision of Dr. Yue Chen.

Requirement: a Master or Bachelor degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science or a relevant field from a renowned and accredited university with First-Class Honors (top 10%).

Ideally, the candidate should have research experience in materials simulations using first-principles methods or molecular dynamics. The candidate should also be strongly motivated, creative and has the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Experience in Linux shell scripting and programming in Python, Fortran or a similar language is preferred. More information about the research group can be found at the following website:
