PhD Studenship on Transport and Non-equilibrium ... (No replies)
Back to Job listings...
Applications are invited from exceptional candidates for a PhD studentship in condensed matter physics at King's College London.
The research will focus on energy dissipation phenomena and transport in materials for energy conversion technologies, opto- and nano-electronics. The project will involve the use of state-of-the-art first-principles techniques to compute the electronic and vibrational properties of materials (including carriers’ relaxation times due to electron-phonon, phonon-phonon and carrier-defect interactions) as well as the development and use of computational approaches (within the Boltzmann transport framework and beyond) to simulate and predict transport and non-equilibrium phenomena in complex systems.
The successful candidate should have a degree in physics or material science.
For further details contact Dr Nicola Bonini ([email protected]). The starting date for this position is October 2015; thus prospective applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
King’s College, part of the University of London, is the fourth oldest university in England, and one of the top 20 universities in the world (2014 QS international world rankings). The Department of Physics is located on the Strand Campus, right in the heart of central London.
