A number of PhD scholarships will be offered at the Department of Physics (DTU Physics) and Department of Energy Conversion and Storage (DTU Energy) in connection with the newly established Catalysis Theory Center and the section for Atomic Scale Modelling and Materials.
The PhD scholarships will focus on:
The PhD projects will be carried out in close collaboration with leading international computational and experimental groups, as well as industry, and you will be employed either at DTU Physics or DTU Energy, depending on the specific project and your scientific profile.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a master's degree in physics, chemistry or engineering, or possibly a degree in computer science or informatics, with an academic level equivalent to a master's degree in engineering.
A successful candidate:
We favour candidates with experience in computational/theoretical physics, chemistry and related areas.
Approval and Enrolment
The scholarship for the PhD degree is subject to academic approval, and the candidates will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes of DTU. For information about the general requirements for enrolment and the general planning of the scholarship studies, please see the DTU PhD Guide.
Assessment
The assessment of the applicants will be made by Professor Karen Chan, Professor Tejs Vegge, and Professor Jens K. Nørskov.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. The period of employment is 3 years, and the PhD project will be carried out at DTU Lyngby Campus.
The expected start date is 1 September 2018 or soon thereafter.
