Several fully funded PhD positions are available under National and European funded projects in the Applied Computer Modelling Group at CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials, Portugal. We are looking for highly motivated individuals to participate in four multidisciplinary projects with a large experimental input funded by FCT and by the FET-OPEN & Pathfinder European programs. Topics range from exotic electronic materials and electronic biodevices to porous materials for batteries and sensing.  

We are looking for candidates with a strong interest in computational chemistry, physics or molecular biology to undertake a PhD program at the University of Aveiro coordinated by Dr. Manuel Melle-Franco. 

Elegibility: Master degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Biochemistry or similar obtained in Portugal, any European country or other countries with automatic degree accreditation by Portuguese authorities.

Expected starting date: ASAP

Duration of contract: 3 years (extendable for one more year)
