Two PhD positions are available for the January 2023 intake at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) within the group of Marco Battiato.

One of the scholarship will be within a joint PhD program with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Half of the scholarship will be spent in Singapore while the other half in the group of prof Mads Brandbyge. This joint program will award a double PhD degree from NTU and DTU.

The other scholarship will be integrally carried out in Singapore.

The topics will be:

- numerics for the Boltzmann equation for strongly out-of-equilibrium states in real band structures and extended heterostructures;
- far-from-equilibrium, time-dependent decription of nanodevices
- study of ultrafast spin transport in metals and semicondcutors;
- absorption and production of THz radiation in out-of-equilibrium heterostructures.

The candidate should have excellent mathematical and programming skills. Experience with out-of-equilibrium dynamics and/or programming in C++ is an advantage.
