A fully funded PhD positions is available starting from February 2021 in the

Computational Solid-State Theory group (https://cs2t.de)

at the Institute for Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics,

Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, Germany.

The position is limited to three years. Competitive remuneration based on DFG personnel rates (75% TV-L E13) should be expected.

The candidate will work in the Computational Solid-State Theory group under supervision of Prof. Fabio Caruso on the development of novel first-principles techniques for the study of ultrafast processes, electron-phonon coupling, and many-body interactions in two-dimensional materials. Talented and motivated candidates with a Master degree in Physics, Materials Science, or equivalent, and a strong background in solid-state theory are encouraged to apply. Former experience with density-functional theory is desired; expertise in the field of many-body perturbation theory will be an advantage.
