A PhD thesis (3 years) is funded by ANR (Agence Nationale pour la Recherche) in the framework of TRAPPER collaborative project on the role of defects in halide perovskites for photovoltaics. The focus of the thesis will be on the study of defects in halide perovskites using simulations based on Density Functional Theory. The PhD candidate will be based in Saclay (near Paris), with frequent exchanges with Grenoble. The project will benefit from a collaboration with experimental teams of the TRAPPER consortium in École Polytechnique (Palaiseau) and CNRS-Orléans.
We are looking for motivated candidates with a robust background in solid state physics, chemistry or materials science, and knowledge of numerical simulations (programming skills are appreciated). Good communication skills (including in English) are also required. The starting date of the PhD will be September or October 2020, as compatible with COVID19 restrictions.
