Title: 'Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) /Poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) /Cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) multiphase composite films'

This project aims to design ternary composite films of Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs)/Polybutylene adipate co-terephthalate (PBAT) with silane modified cellulose nanocrystals for the food packaging industry using different computational approaches (molecular modelling and simulations) and experimental techniques investigating macromolecular structure, microscopic and macroscopic material properties.

    Desirable Qualification:

    1. Master’s in Engineering or Technology (Chemical, Mechanical, Materials
    Engineering or related fields such as Biotechnology, Nanotechnology
    etc.) or Master’s of Science (Physics or chemistry) from a good university
    and with good grades (> 65% or equivalent).

     

     

    2. JRF/NET qualified or a high GATE score and a good academic record will add to the quality/strength of an application.

     

    3. Qualifying degrees from India must meet the eligibility norms of BITS.

    4. Prior knowledge of Molecular Dynamics simulation or Monte Carlo simulation.

    5. Prior knowledge of polymer processing and characterization.

    6. Highly motivated with good written and oral communication skills.

    7. Efficient team player.
