Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…
Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.
In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

A group of Prof. Dr. Daria Gorelova at the I.Institute for Theoretical Physics, University of Hamburg, Germany invites applications for a PhD position in the field of ultrafast light-matter interaction.
Please note: this PhD position has been created as part of the Universität Hamburg and the MIN Faculty Equal Opportunity Plan, which means that qualified women are explicitly encouraged to apply.
Specific Duties
A candidate will theoretically describe state-of-the-art experiments, which can be performed at Free-Electron Lasers such as EuXFEL in Hamburg. In particular, the focus would be on the quantum-mechanical description of time-resolved photoelectron momentum microscopy of charge transfer dynamics at hybrid interfaces. This task would include computations with quantum-mechanical packages, writing own computational codes and analytical work. A candidate would have to teach 2 hours per week, teaching in English is, in principle, possible.
Requirements
Applicants should have or be expecting to achieve a Master Degree or equivalent in physics or in a related field before the start date. Good English skills, spoken and written, are mandatory. Previous research experience in theoretical physics or in theoretical chemistry is highly desirable. Experience in simulations using a quantum-mechanical software package and/or code development to describe physical problems is a plus.
