A PhD position is available in the group of Claudia Filippi at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. The research will focus on theoretical and software developments to further accelerate quantum Monte Carlo methods for the efficient computation of structural properties in the excited state. The project is funded by the Dutch national research organization (NWO) and Shell under the Computational Sciences for Energy Research program. The research will be carried out in close collaboration with dedicated software engineers from the Netherlands eScience Center.
The PhD position is for 4 years and is available already now.
Candidates should have a master in chemistry, physics, or applied mathematics. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in computer simulations and programming.
