A fully-funded PhD position is open at the Department of Physics, Ecole Polytechnique, France.  The research project involves using first principles calculations to understand and predict materials with high thermoelectric figure of merit in new families of compounds. 

The candidate is expected to have a master degree in physics or materials science by the end of summer.  We seek highly motivated students with strong background in quantum mechanics and condensed matter physics.

The position is for three years with a gross salary of 2135 euros per month (net 1735 euros per month).
