PhD position: Computational physics at Pukyong National University, Busan, Korea

 

 

PhD position is available in the Department of Physics, Pukyong National University, Busan, Korea.

 

Project: we are mostly working on two-dimensional materials, and you will be working on the following physical properties.

 

topic 1: thermoelectric properties of two-dimensional materials

  1. a) temperature and carrier concentration dependent ZT of non-magnetic materials
  2. b) spin Seebeck effect in magnetic materials

 

topic 2: magnetic properties of two-dimensional materials

-a) Magnetic property including magnetic anisotropy, Curie temperature calculation

-b) Anomalous Hall effect, Valley polarization, and Anomalous Nernst effect

-c) multiferroric property

 

topic 3: optiacl properties of magnetic materials :

-The central issue in this topic is to understand the optical transparency of magnetic materials in the visible frequencies

 

Requirement:

 

Should have Master degree in physics or material sciences.

Should have experience in DFT calculations in one of the tools (vasp, wien2k, quantum espresso, siesta, etc..)
