A PhD position is available to work on the corrosion of UO2 with first-principles electronic structure calculations using Density Functional Theory.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should have a Master degree in Physics, Materials Science or equivalent and an excellent knowledge of Solid State Physics, Quantum Mechanics and Many-Body theory. Hands-on experience with High Performance Computing and the Python programming language is certainly a plus. Good presentation and writing skills in English are required.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to think analytically and to work independently.
