PhD position at the University of Halle, Germany (1 reply and 1 comment)
Good Prof,
I am Ogunkunle Temitope. I have completed my undergraduate studies from Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Nigeria with a Bachelor's degree in Physics concentrating in condensed matter. I hope to complete my postgraduate research (M.Sc.) by December 2015. I am experienced in using quantum espresso package in obtaining the electronic, structural and physical properties of materials.
I am currently working on an organic semiconductor(PEDOT) with its application in solar cells due to its high conductivity and chemical stability.
The position advertized is a great match to my interest, however i would like to confirm if i should go ahaed with the application as I would not be able to provide an official transcript of record but a statement from my department for the M.Sc. program.
Thanking you in advance as I anticipate a favourable response from you.
Best regards,

A PhD position is now open in the group of Prof. Miguel Marques at the Institute of Physics of the Martin-Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. The topic is related to the first-principles inversion of the electronic-structure problem, i.e., how to obtain the material that possesses a desired electronic structure. The tools used for this problem include density functional theory and global structural prediction methods, namely the minima hopping method. Interested applicants should send an application letter (explicitly mentioning the Reg.-Nr.: 5-7883/15-D), a CV, a motivation letter, and two references to [email protected]. More information about the group can be found at http://www.tddft.org/bmg/.
