Flexible hybrid functionals for solids and surfaces
A PhD position is available immediately in the Emmy-Noether Junior Research Group at the department of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry, Saarland University (Germany) .
The successful candidate will be involved in the development of novel density functional methods for materials in the framework of the Emmy-Noether project “Hybrid functionals for hybrid materials” (https://gepris.dfg.de/gepris/projekt/418140043?language=en). Particular focus lies on the assessment and implementation of flexible hybrid schemes for bulk properties and interfaces.
Requirements:
- Experience with quantum chemical calculations (of extended systems)
- Basic knowledge of Kohn-Sham density functional theory
- Affinity for programming, experience with Fortran and Python is an advantage
- Good English and German skills (written and oral)
Funded by the German Research Council (DFG) for two years with a possible extension of up to two years.
Pay grade: 67% of E13 TV-L, German salary scale.
