For the Laboratory for Reactor Physics and Systems Behaviour we are looking for a

PhD Student

Multiscale Modelling of Nuclear Materials

Your tasks

Multiscale Modelling of the microstructural evolution in reactor vessel steels
Development and application of simulation and post-processing codes
Collaboration within the Horizon 2020 project SOTERIA
Present your scientific results at national and international conferences and publish it in peer-reviewed journals

Your profile

You hold a Master degree in nuclear engineering, materials science, physics, or in a related topic
Good programming skills (C++, Fortran, Python)
Experience in materials simulation (DFT, MD, Kinetic Monte Carlo is an asset)
Good communication skills
Knowledge of nuclear technology (in particular issues related to nuclear materials) is an advantage
Good English language skills, knowledge of German and/or French is a plus
