PhD position – Laboratoire de Réactivité et Chimie des Solides (Amiens, France) – Experimental and theoretical approaches for the design of organic battery materials
A three year PhD position is available in the team developing organic batteries at the Laboratoire de Réactivité et Chimie des Solides (LRCS, UMR #7314, Univ. Picardie Jules Verne), Amiens (France), under the supervision of Dr. Christine FRAYRET and Dr. Frédéric SAUVAGE.
The PhD candidate will work on the computational design, synthesis and experimental/theoretical characterization of new materials for the development of eco-friendly organic batteries. Her/his objectives will be to define a suitable experimental and computational protocol as well as efficient selection strategies, which will be able to lead to performant materials in view of tackling current challenges of the field. The PhD candidate will apply several synthetic routes as well as various theoretical approaches based on Density Functional Theory and chemical bonding analysis complemented by accurate exploration of electrochemical, structural, and spectroscopic properties.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a master's degree in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Materials Science or a similar relevant degree with an academic level equivalent to the master's degree in Engineering.
Outstanding and highly motivated students from Chemistry and Physical Chemistry Departments with either organic synthesis, materials science/condensed matter chemistry or computational modelling experience are strongly encouraged to apply for this post.
Workplace
The PhD training and research will be carried in the vibrant environment of the LRCS (https://www.lrcs.u-picardie.fr) at UPJV and of the Institut de Chimie de Picardie (http://www.u-picardie.fr/icp/index.php), located in Amiens, France.
