The group of Prof. Dr. Stefan Schumacher, Theoretical Physics, University of Paderborn seeks to fill
two PhD student or PostDoc positions
(Salary category EG 13 TV-L)
The positions are with 100% (PostDoc) or 75% (PhD student) of the regular work time. Employment is for a term of up to 3 years.
Project description and responsibilities:
The successful candidates will contribute to the project „Microscopic picture of charge generation in conjugated polymers“ funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). In this project we will strive to obtain a better microscopic understanding of molecular doping of conjugated polymers (organic semiconductors) and of charge separation after photoexcitation of these systems. The project builds upon the group’s previous work on these and related subjects in the field of molecular photophysics. The theoretical work will be performed in collaboration with our experimental partners. Besides the group’s research projects (www.physik.upb.de/schumacher), in the Faculty of Science we offer a very stimulating research environment with research focussed on optoelectronics and material science. We welcome applications from highly motivated and skilled candidates with interest in theoretical work and with good command of the english language (both written and spoken). Duties may also include contributions to the teaching in the Physics Department.
