We are a new established research group based at the National University of Singapore, and we are looking for one Ph.D. student and one Postdocoral research fellow who are interested in computational machine learning design of rechargeable batteries materials. Our group values diversity, and there are no citizenship/gender restrictions. You can find our group webpage: https://matsci.dev

Ph.D. Student

Experiences in computational materials science is not essential and we welcome people from different background. Previous experience in computational materials science, machine learning, rechargeable battery, and electrochemistry is a plus. Perspective students should follow the admission requirement to the Graduate Research Programmes, especially the GRE requirement (320 for verbal & math + 3.5 for analytical writing). For excellent candidate with excellent academic track record from renowned universities, it is possible to waive the GRE condition however it is not guaranteed. For more information on application, fees, graduate scholarship, please refer to NUS Graduate School

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

The candidate must have a Ph.D. in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, or a related field at the commencement of employment. Our offerings include benefits such as medical insurance and vacation leave.

We are seeking ideal candidates with the following qualifications:

  1. A profound understanding of solid-state physics/chemistry and general physical chemistry. Knowledge of thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, and statistical mechanics is desirable.
  2. Proficiency and experience in computer simulation methods, including density-functional theory (VASP/CASTEP/Quantum Espresso), (ab initio-) molecular dynamics (LAMMPS/CP2K), Monte Carlo, finite element (COMSOL) etc.
  3. Experience and skills in scientific programming (Python/C++/C) and data analysis, including familiarity with UNIX/Linux operating systems and command-line environments (BASH, CSH, etc.), machine learning and deep learning, as well as good understanding of high-performance computing hardware.
  4. A track record of publishing papers in good scientific journals and excellent presentation skills.

Please contact Dr. Deng ([email protected]) with your cover letter, CV and transcripts (for Ph.D. applicant). For Ph.D. applicant, please make sure you have met the minimum admission requirement before sending your email.
