A Post-Doctoral and a PhD position is at present available in the group of Prof. S. Goedecker within the Swiss National Competence Center on Materials Discovery (MARVEL). The group focuses on the development of new algorithms for atomistic simulations and density functional calculations. Applications are primarily in the field of first principles structure prediction and materials discovery. Of particular interest are novel materials for sustainable energy production and storage. Candidates for the position are not only expected to have a good physical/chemical understanding of condensed matter systems but also excellent mathematical and programming skills.
