Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Dr. Fanglin Che research group is currently recruiting at least one Ph.D. candidate, who will be working on the project related to machine learning supported multiscale and multi-physics simulations for computational heterogeneous catalysis.

The candidate(s) will apply machine learning approach combining with multi-scale and multi-physics modeling to facilitate the design of novel catalytic materials with tailored properties. The successful candidate(s) will develop data-driven multi-scale simulation skills (from atomic to continuum scale) for predicting catalytic material and reaction properties for the applications of plasma catalysis, electrocatalysis, and field-driven catalysis.

The successful candidate will be:

(1) Chemical Engineering or related Major in B.S. and/or M.S.

(2) GPA is over 3.2

(3) Have strong interests in Machine Learning and Computational Catalysis

(4) If the candidate has experience on machine learning, or density functional theory, or microkinetic model, or computational fluid dynamics will be a plus.

UMass Lowell is a rolling-based recruitment mechanism. If you are interested, please immediately send your CV, transcript, and personal statement, and TOEFL (or IEITS) to [email protected]
