Multiple fully-funded Ph.D positions are available in multiple directions at Indiana University - Bloomington. These include the computational study of correlated electron materials, as well as materials for energy applications in the Georgescu group, chemistry of molecules and materials in the Raghavachari group, quantum information in the Iyengar group, as well as molecules and materials for quantum information in the Shushkov group. In some cases, joint supervision with an experimental group may be possible (e.g. materials simulation and synthesis).

Applications are open to students with a background in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, and other related fields - no chemistry GRE is required - to the Indiana University - Bloomington Department of Chemistry. Students will also collaborate to solve a wide array of problems with experimental groups at Indiana University, across the US, and around the world, and will receive mentorship in networking, public speaking, and other relevant skills.

The Department of Chemistry consists of a well-rounded research community with cutting-edge expertise in a wide variety of modern disciplines including analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, materials chemistry, and biochemistry.
