The Quantum Transport Theory Group, led by Prof. Branislav K. Nikolic at the University of Delaware, invites applications for a Ph.D. student position in time-dependent quantum transport simulations applied to problems in spintronics and/or quantum biology. Applicants are required to have B.Sc. or M.S. degree in physics or related fields and some experience with scientific computing. The anticipated research will add new functionalities into the KWANT package (http://kwant-project.org/) and it will include close collaboration with its developers in Grenoble. The group utilizes some of the fastest supercomputers in the world (such as TACC Stampede and SDSC Comet, as well as two smaller clusters located at the University of Delaware). The position can start in Spring 2016 or Fall 2016 semester.
