The research group of Gabriel Antonius, affiliated with Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (Canada) and the Hydrogen Research Institute, is looking for a master or Ph.D. student for a project in numerical physics.
The goal of the projet is to identify catalytic materials for the production of green hydrogen by electrolysis. This process allows the conversion of electrical power into chemical energy, and produces hydrogen without any CO2 emissions, which can be used to propel a hydrogen electric vehicle. The student will perform atomistic simulations based on density functional theory (DFT), in order to compute the chemical stability of various compounds and identify the most promising materials for the design of electrolyser cells.
The project may start in January 2021 semester or May 2021 semester. The student will be encouraged to apply to scholarships, but will be granted a salary to allow them to perform their research at full time. A degree in physics or chemistry is required. To apply, please send your resume and transcript to [email protected]. Also be ready to provide a recommendation letter upon request.
