The London Centre for Nanotechnology is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work with David Bowler, to perform linear scaling density functional theory (DFT) calculations on semiconductor core-shell nanowires, and to participate in relevant developments of the CONQUEST DFT code. The post will involve use of the ARCHER HPC platform to model the structure and properties of dopants in nanowires, concentrating on the influence of surfaces and interfaces on the dopant states. It will be in collaboration with experimental and modelling teams in the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), Tsukuba, Japan, and may involve collaborative research trips to Japan. The post will last for one year, starting by 1st October 2016.
