Multiple postdoctoral and PhD positions are available in Chemistry, Physics, or Computer Science at the University of South Carolina, USA in Christopher Sutton's lab. The research will focus on using computational materials science and machine learning to design new ionic conductors for solid-state batteries. This project is a highly collaborative effort as part of a three-year funded initiative by the US Department of Energy involving several research groups at USC.
The PhD positions will start in Fall 2024. The postdoctoral positions are open for an immediate start. The initial contract for postdoctoral positions is for one year, with the possibility of annual renewal upon mutual agreement. The starting salary for postdoctoral positions is $53,000. Health insurance is also included. Candidates should have experience in scientific programming and atomistic simulations; experience in machine learning is preferred.
