A postdoctoral position is available immediately at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL, Lausanne) in the Laboratory for Computational Molecular Design (LCMD), headed by Prof. Clemence Corminboeuf. The annual salary is roughly 83,000 CHF (~68,000 Euro).

 The position is part of a large national research center awarded for “Materials’Revolution: Computational Design and Discovery of Novel Materials” (MARVEL) (see http://marvel-nccr.ch for further information) funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. The position focuses on electrochemical water oxidation. The goal is to screen and model novel heterogeneous water splitting catalysts.

The project will strongly benefit from the collaboration and computational expertise of the MARVEL consortium on large-scale material screening (e.g., collaboration with the group of Prof. Nicola Marzari) and on machine learning (e.g., Prof. Michele Ceriotti and Prof. Anatole von Lilienfeld). It will also involve collaboration with experimentalists at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) and at the EPFL.

Candidates are sought with passion for the field and with a strong background in heterogenous electrocatalysis. A PhD in computational chemistry, physics or material sciences is required. Experience with http://www.quantum-espresso.org or https://www.cp2k.org is an advantage.
