Several ERC-funded 4-year positions are available as PhD students in the Biophysical Models for Medical Applications (BioMMedA) group at Ghent University, Belgium. We are looking for candidates with strong skills in mathematics and physics, especially in abstract thinking (Monte Carlo in path space) and algorithms, and with an interest in computational biology at the molecular scale. The aim is to develop new computational methodologies to assess drug delivery kinetics. The envisioned applications are in cancer drug transport, such as protein-drug binding kinetics and drug permeation through membranes.
