studying physical phenomena on the quantum phases of matter, for example, excitons, polarons,
correlated states, low dimensional systems, topological insulators, among others, are particularly
encouraged to apply.

Candidates must have:

a. A Ph. D in Physics, or a closely related field.

b. Demonstrated research experience in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics of at least two
years after obtaining a Ph. D.

c. Women must be under 39 years old, and men under 37 years old, before the position is taken.

Candidates are expected to engage in competitive research programs, teach at undergraduate and graduate levels, recruit, supervise, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, participate in
university service and professional activities, and develop an actively funded research program of  the highest quality. It is encouraged that the proposed research project complements existing research topics in Condensed Matter Physics & Nanoscience at the Institute of Physics.

Candidates are expected to teach in Spanish. UNAM is a public university with a strong commitment to improving access to higher education in Mexico for students from diverse backgrounds.
