The research lab of Lee Burton (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=fEp-jzkAAAAJ&hl=en) has recently moved to the School of Materials Science in the Faculty of Engineering at Tel Aviv University. He has openings for a 2-year postdoc and two 4-year PhD students in computational materials science.

Project description

You will use a combination of first-principles calculations and Python tools to find exciting new materials for clean energy/industry applications. We have previously published several studies screening all known materials and are looking to expand into machine learning methods for prediction of new material properties.

Candidate profile

We are looking for highly motivated candidates of any nationality and gender with a background in materials science, physics, chemistry or a related field. Experience in solid-state chemistry, condensed matter physics or materials physics is a bonus, as is (basic) Python programming knowledge.
