Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

About the group:

The newly established group of Prof. Xie Zhang (http://www.csrc.ac.cn/en/people/faculty/187.html) is currently under construction. With sophisticated training and experience received during PhD in the group of Prof. Jörg Neugebauer at the Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung GmbH and postdoc in the group of Prof. Chris G. Van de Walle at the University of California, Santa Barbara, the PI has built up a solid expertise in first-principles calculations of defects and phase transformations in metallic and semiconducting alloys. The PI joined the Division of Materials and Energy at the CSRC in 2020 with a central focus on computational research and design of advanced structural and energy materials. In recent years, the PI has published a number of research articles in high-profile journals such as Nature Materials, Nature Communications, Science Advances, Physical Review Letters, Advanced Energy Materials, ACS Energy Letters, Acta Materialia.

How to apply:

Qualified and interested candidates are encouraged to send their applications with their detailed resume to the e-mail address: [email protected]. Please also include the contact information for 2-3 references, with which the PI will approach for letters of recommendation. The positions remain open until filled.
