Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a 3-4 week delay between posts being submitted and emails being sent to the mailing list. Please bear with us while we try to improve this.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

Fully funded Marie Sklodowska Curie fellowship in the group of Piotr Zuchowski from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun (www.molintlab.com).

This position is part of the PHYMOL: Physics, Accuracy and Machine Learning: Towards the next-generation of Molecular Potentials MSCA Doctoral Network.

This project focuses on creating new theories in the spirit of symmetry-adapted perturbation theory (SAPT) which will make calculations of molecular forces cheaper, faster and more accurate. We particularly aim to improve theory of molecular induction interactions for radicals, complexes of transition metals, molecules in excited states.

The project will span 36 months and take place in Toruń, a charming city renowned for its well-preserved Old Town, which has earned it a place on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. Not only is Toruń famous as the birthplace of the renowned astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, but it is also home to a variety of stunning parks and green spaces that both residents and visitors can enjoy. Alongside its rich history, Toruń's natural beauty makes it an ideal location for the project.

PHYMOL brings together leading experts in the fields of molecular simulations, quantum chemistry, intermolecular modelling, machine-learning. The network consist of 12 academic institutes & laboratories, and 4 industrial entities. Our ambition is not only to push forward molecular science but also to train a new generation of researchers in the field of molecular modelling.
