We are searching for a postdoctoral scholar to perform theoretical and computational work in the Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (MRSEC) at the University of Delaware (UD) recently established by the US National Science Foundation (https://mrsec.org/news/nsf-announces-mrsec-competition-results). This postdoc will work as part of a team that is focused on THz excitations in heterostructures of quantum materials. Specifically, the postdoc will work on multiscale simulations and method/code development bridging theories at different length and time scales (such as first-principles calculations to atomistic tight binding to time-dependent quantum transport and computational electromagnetics) in order to predict and understand emergent properties and carrier dynamics at interfaces within hybrid materials that will be grown on the site. The postdoctoral scholar will report to the MRSEC IRG co-directors and will work especially closely with team members Dr. Garnett Bryant (NIST), Prof. Anderson Janotti (UD), and Prof. Branislav K.
