Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

A Master internship (6 months) followed by a PhD thesis (3 years) will be funded starting in 2020 by ANR (Agence Nationale pour la Recherche) in the framework of TRAPPER collaborative project on the role of defects in halide perovskites for photovoltaics. The subject of the internship, to be carried out in Grenoble, is graphene encapsulation of hybrid organic inorganic halide perovskites (HOIP). The focus of the thesis, to be based in Saclay (near Paris), will be on the study of defects in halide perovskites using simulations based on Density Functional Theory. The project will benefit from frequent exchanges with experimental teams of the TRAPPER consortium in École Polytechnique (Palaiseau) and CNRS-Orléans.

We are looking for motivated candidates with a robust background in solid state physics, chemistry or materials science, and knowledge of numerical simulations (programming skills are appreciated). Good communication skills (including in English) are also required.
