Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

We are seeking an outstanding machine learning expert with a background in physics, chemistry, materials science, or informatics to apply for a permanent CNRS* researcher
position at IRCER lab (Limoges, France). The candidate should hold a Ph.D. in one of the above-mentioned fields with, preferably, one or several years of research experience.

IRCER (http://www.ircer.fr) is a multidisciplinary lab working at the edge between materials science and
process engineering. Researchers at IRCER combine fundamental and applied approaches in order to understand, characterize, control, and model the different processes around ceramic materials.

The CNRS position is subject to a high-level national competition and is open without any origin or geographical restrictions.

The selected candidate will be guided to prepare a scientific project jointly with IRCER lab and will be presented to the CNRS recruitment committee.
Depending on the candidate’s profile, the position will address at least one of the following research topics:

• Machine learning algorithms for structure and property prediction of ceramic materials
• Automatic scientific workflows for materials modeling
• Atomic scale modeling and high-throughput screening

Interested candidates are invited to send a detailed CV and full contact details of two references
supporting the application to [email protected] and to [email protected]
