Applications are invited for JRF position with the opportunity to pursue a PhD in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, Pilani Campus. The area of Research will be "Development of Covalent Organic Polymer Sensors for Molecular Decoding of Breath VOCs through Fluorescence Image Processing."

Responsibilities

• Running Quantum Mechanical Calculations (DFT)
• Synthesis of the molecules.
• Image Processing using Machine Learning algorithms
• Writing papers and presenting at the conference.

Qualifications

B.E/B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech. (with at least 60% marks) in Chemical Engineering/Material Science/Nanotechnology or relevant area; or, M.Sc. Chemistry with 60% marks

Desirable Qualifications (but Not Mandatory):

• Experience in synthesis of organic molecules

• Experience in DFT/MD simulations

• Knowledge of programming language, e.g., MATLAB, python, C/C++

• Experience in image processing

• Self-motivated, keen to learn new methods, ability to solve problems independently

• Good proficiency in technical writing
