Outstanding candidates to fill several postdoctoral positions are sought in the field of electronic structure theory of solids/Condensed Matter Theory as joint positions between Shenzhen University (Prof. Xiuwen Zhang) and University of Colorado at Boulder (Prof. Alex Zunger) and are for a period of 2 years (one year in each institute). Research focal areas include Materials by Design, Quantum Materials (Mott physics; Rashba effects; Topological matter; spintronics), novel semiconductors, and nanoscience. See (http://www.colorado.edu/zunger-materials-by-design).

Candidates must have a doctoral degree in physics, materials science, or related areas. Strong background in the practice of first-principles calculations and theoretical modeling is preferred. Applications are accepted now and should be emailed to Prof. Xiuwen Zhang at [email protected] and Prof. Alex Zunger at [email protected], including CV and representative achievements in the last 5 years.

The basic compensation for these positions is about 300k RMB (~ 44k USD, at current exchange rates) per year. Qualified candidates who continue working in Shenzhen for a longer term after the 2-year period of postdoctoral research, can also receive a bonus package (tax free) totaling 1.6 million RMB (~ 232k USD), to be distributed annually over 5 years.
