Job announcements relevant to people interested in electronic structure calculations…

Due to the large number of posts recently, there is currently a delay of several weeks between posts being submitted and the corresponding emails being distributed to all users. Please bear with us while we try to improve this. In the meantime – and until this notice is removed – it would assist us considerably if you could submit only important and/or urgent posts and thus help to reduce the size of the mail queue. Under no circumstances should you resend posts multiple times when you find the emails are not distributed immediately.

In light of the Russian military offensive in Ukraine, we request that announcements relating to events, jobs and other activities associated with institutions supported by the Russian and Belarusian states are not posted to the Psi-k forum.

The Condensed Matter and Materials Physics Group (CMMP) within the Department of Physics and Astronomy at University College London, UK, invites applications for the following long-term personal Research Fellowships:

Royal Society University Research Fellowship

Dorothy Hodgkin Fellowship

EPSRC Open Fellowships

UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at UCL is located in the heart of the historical area of Bloomsbury in central London, UK. Scientific research and study has been a strong feature of UCL since its inception in 1826. UCL is one of the top-rated universities in the world (8th in the world in the 2023 QS World University Ranking). The CMMP Group is a strong contributor to the Thomas Young Centre London, a world-leading network for the Theory and Simulation of Materials. It also has close links with the London Centre for Nanotechnolgy (a pan-London collaboration involving UCL, Imperial College and King’s College) and National Laboratories such as ISIS neutron and muon source and Diamond Light Source.

Candidates interested in one of the above fellowships first apply to CMMP, which will host the fellowship. Successful candidates will then be invited to apply to one of the awarding organisations listed at the top of this page (i.e. Royal Society or EPSRC). We welcome applications from everyone irrespective of gender, ethnic group or nationality and we are striving to advance equality, diversity and inclusiveness.

Successful Research Fellows will be prioritized in PhD studentship allocations.
